Goodness Gracious....More Love From New Zealand!!

Awhile ago I signed up for a Vintage Kitchen Swap and was paired with the lovely Louanna at NZ Green Buttons. This is what she sent!!

Firstly let me say...everything was wonderful...but if you could have seen my eyes when I opened the ginormous bar of Whittakers chocolate... (my favorite... my friend Cat at  Catalina's Cottage got me hooked on this confection years ago.....
Louanna makes the loveliest hand made tags and gift cards and she sent a generous amount!!
Also included was a tea towel (perfect colours for my neutral kitchen) a family recipe for a chocolate cake and these adorable disposable bread baking pans that honestly..I have never seen in the US before.
This was such a fun swap and I'd like to thank Taz at Butter and Buntings for hosting this swap!!

Playing The Catch Up Game....

It's been a long...long..LOOOOOONG Winter. Everything was going smoothly... I decided to take the month of January off to re organize my business and catch up on some projects. January turned into Februrary. Plagued once again with kidney stones...I worked myself right up into a full blown ulcer.
So... now starting to feel better..and playing the catch up game with my swaps.
Today I got my Ravelry Swap out to Germany
The lip balm, lotin bar and roving I made and the goats milk soap is made by my friend Kim Roos who owns Gardenside Dairy in Joneseboro.

and I was so excited I got to use my Washi Tape that Heather sent me in the Sew Sweet Swap.
Now to get my other swaps organized and out the door this week!

Sew Sweet Swap Package Arrival!!

Yesterday my package arrived in the post from Heather...and it's lovely!!
Filled with chocolates, herbal tea and some fun washi tape...which I've seen on Pinterest but living in the "sticks" I've never actually come across in person. The bag is so pretty. I'm not as good a seamstress as she...i'm pretty good at sewing a straight line most days. Thank you so much Heather for everything. I can't wait to try the tea today. I hope you like everything I sent. And thank you to  Cat  for sponsoring this fun swap!

9 Patch and New Fabric

This poor quilt top has been sitting unfinished in a box for about 2 years.... It's finally finished and ready to be quilted.

I found most of the material for the blocks at a thrift store for about 5.00. It's roughly 64"x 52". Good throw size for the back of a chair. I'll probably  hand quilt this one during the summer.
After organizing my stash... I gave myself permission to buy some new material and a few goodies for a swap i'm currently part of.
I ordered this
Riley Blake Sunshine. A bit out of the norm for my color palette but I have a sweet little girl in mind who is having a birthday this summer and this fits her to a T.

Vacation Wind Down....

I took the month of January off from work to re organize, refresh and catch up on some projects that needed finishing. Fortunately January is a slow month for soap orders after the holidays...and then picks up again for Valentine's and Spring.

I joined a couple swaps on Ravelry and through some blogs I follow. I'm looking forward to working on those projects as well. I'm currently working on my Sew Sweet Pouch for Cat's  swap over at Catalina's Cottage.  The other swap is a Share Your Country Swap over at Kimberley's blog Creative Chaos. I'll share some teaser photos next week.

I've caught up on a fair bit of knitting....

 Nothing terribly exciting...
Just dishcloths. A few for my Ravelry Swap and some for sale at Machias Hardware store in town.
15 dishcloths later.... for the love of Pete I hope I don't have to knit another one for awhile...

I did get some spinning finished as well. I have 3 full fleeces left in the closet to spin prior to shearing this Spring.

This was some hand dyed Coopworth that was sheared from Little Ricky's dad Alton last Spring. I'll probably make some mittens from it...whenever I find more time.I pulled out the 3 quilts I have yet to finish. I looked them over...and then packed them back up and put em right back in the closet. I'll find time this Summer I hope!

Catching Snowflakes...or Being Sassy?

We received a light dusting of snow last evening...
I caught Oona one of our South Down Babydoll Sheep catching snowflakes...or is she being sassy??
Ricky our not amused... he's ready for a haircut and some green meadow...

Happy To Return To The Blogging World

The New Year finds me returning to the "slow" lane. Returning to what I enjoyed most. Blogging, knitting, quilting, creating and sharing with others. Much thanks to my good friend Cat for helping me make the decision to kick some particular social media sites to the curb. xo
